Who am I?

tldr: Im am obsessed with dynamical systems, numerics, scientific computing and think about it all the time

I am Milan Rother, Consulting Engineer specializing in dynamical systems modeling and simulation from northern Germany.

My flagship project is PathSim – a Python framework for simulating interconnected dynamical systems. Compared to other frameworks of this kind, PathSim pushes some unorthodox decisions to its limits. One of them being a fully decentralized architecture where the system components are fundamentally independent and the solvers act locally in the computational graph, where the problems actually appear. This enables seamless integration into existing Python-based modeling workflows and Digital Twin applications.

I work closely together with MIT Plasma Science & Fusion Center on Fuel-Cycle (chemical processes) and System Modeling for Nuclear Fusion.

I am an expert in dynamical systems, differential equations, numerics, HPC and Python integration. If you

  • need help with formulating the mathematical models to fit your data and modeling pipeline

  • have problems with numerical stability, convergence or performance of your models and simulations

  • want to integrate multiple models together into a unified digital twin simulation

I am the right person to ask.

Although theory and knowledge of dynamical system is super general and broadly applicable, these are the domains I have direct experience with and the types of Systems I encountered:

  • Nuclear Fusion Fuel Cycle: Multirate Systems; Multiphysics integration of FEM Models into System Models (Co-Simulation); Event handling for operational mode and failure mode analysis; Monte-Carlo and Parameter studies;

  • Radio Frequency Systems: Nonlinear Frequency Domain Analysis; Limit Cycles; Multitone Analysis; Uncertainty Quantification for System Parameters

  • Analog and Mixed Signal Circuits: Custom Modeling for Biomedical Sensors; Parametric Modeling
